Do I turn my hips?

Do I turn my hips?  That is a question is get almost every day and some days every single session.  The simple answer is of course you do, the question is when and how much.  I would say that most players turn their hips too much and way to early in the down swing.  It causes many issues including the one in the comparison above.  This player has opened his hips way to early, leaving his arms and club behind him.  The effect is a club face that is pointing way to right.  The ball was a big giant slice.  After working on keeping his trail foot down longer and his hips closed longer, he was able to square the club face and hit a very acceptable push draw.  This comparison is very clear, the open hips in the left photo compared to the much less open hips in the right photo.  In the right photo, his hips have moved farther forward.  In the left photo, the hips have opened moving the pivot back causing the deflected slice.  Get your hips forward and move your arms to the ball.
